The demo hints at enemy variety although they stick to pretty standard genre archetypes for the most part. I’m sure this will all be ironed out in the final balancing stages, if needed, because it isn’t really a big deal and is more nit-picking at this stage. Similarly the weapon switching takes an instant longer than you would like given how many enemies are being thrown at you. Whilst in general controls are smooth, your droid moves a little slowly when not powered up. This creates a nice sense of tension and introduces plenty of situations where you have to decide to play it safe, or rush into danger for the extra few seconds you need.įor the genre, it isn’t quite perfect, but it is getting close. Extra battery charge can be picked up in game and you will need to do so to survive. You have a secondary weapon with limited shots on a cooldown and an overall stage timer that is represented by a constantly draining battery. You are doing WASD movement with the mouse to aim. Menus are slick, the graphics clear and the soundtrack suitably bombastic.įrom there, things are a bit more standard.
